In a new podcast, Thomson Reuters’ Legal Executive Institute speaks with Patrick R. Krill, an attorney as well as a licensed and board-certified alcohol and drug counselor. Krill is also the founder and principal of Krill Strategies, a law firm advisory firm.
Krill was also a co-author of the recently released the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being on how the legal profession can and must take meaningful action towards much-needed improvement in the identification and treatment of addiction and other mental health issues in the profession. The report is being hailed as the American legal system’s first attempt to create such a vitally important and useful document.
In the podcast, Krill discusses how it is time for all stakeholders in the legal profession to get serious about problems that have been ignored for too long, and calls for them to use their experience, status, and leadership to construct a profession built on greater well-being, increased competence and greater public trust.
