Director, Consulting Services Group
Nicholas Barone is a Director in the Consulting Services Group and has more than 20 years of computer and network forensics experience. Nick has managed hundreds of incident response; computer forensic; and PHI, PII, and PCI related investigations in the U.S. and globally. His work in law enforcement and private industry has been reported in the national media, such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and Krebs On Security. Nick has also worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies.
Nick’s extensive experience encompasses performing data breach and computer forensic investigations including oral and written expert testimony in the financial service, health care, education, retail, entertainment, and oil and gas industries. In addition to being a former Qualified Security Assessor, he has conducted IT risk assessments and remediation activities across a number of industries globally in response to information security incidents. He has also built and managed several computer forensic labs. In addition, Nick served as the Director of Forensic Investigations and Audit for a multinational financial services corporation and is a co-U.S. patent holder in the field of threat risk data analytics and modeling.
Over his career, Nick, has lectured nationally on behalf of many professional organizations such as International Association of Privacy Professionals, Risk Management Society, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American Bar Association, and American Corporate Counsel Association, among others.
