Adrian Dayton is an internationally recognized speaker on social media and business development. He writes a weekly column on social media for the National Law Journal and is the author of two books, LinkedIn & Blogs for Lawyers: Building High Value Relationships in a Digital Age (West 2012), co-authored by Amy Knapp and Social Media for Lawyers: Twitter Edition (ARK 2009) Also an explorer in the offline world, in March 2013, Adrian reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
His consulting business Adrian Dayton & Associates has been engaged for the last six years with Global 100, AmLaw 250, Canadian and Australian firms helping them to increase profitability through effective use of digital media. His most popular programs include: LinkedIn training, law firm retreats, law blog strategy, group coaching, social media audits and implementation.
In working with pilot groups, Adrian has developed 3-12 month coaching and training programs that help lawyers identify, quality and engage new prospects with the help of social media. Through this process he has facilitated in the design and launch of dozens of law blogs and helped hundreds of lawyers build strategic social media profiles.
Adrian is a non-practicing lawyer living in Amherst, New York. His first job out of law school was practicing corporate law for a mid-sized firm in Western New York, but in the Spring of 2009 he was a casualty of the economic downturn. A few months later, in the Fall of 2009 his first book was published by the ARK Group. Since that time, he has spent the majority of his efforts consulting and training law firms across the country. He has a passion for writing and is currently a weekly columnist for the National Law Journal and contributor for Technolawyer’s BigLaw Newsletter. Adrian is also a frequent keynote speaker and facilitator at law firm lunches, partner meetings, and retreats.
